# Project Settings

> Edit project settings, lock projects, and manage contributors.

To edit a project's settings, go to the **Settings** tab. From here you can:

* Edit the project's period
* Edit the project's contributors
* Update the trial balance (see [Create or update a trial balance](/papers/trial-balance))
* Export the project (see [Export project](/papers/export-project))

## Lock or delete a project

**Deleting** — Admin users can delete any project.

**Locking** — If you are an Admin or an assigned Reviewer on the project, you can lock the project once it is complete. Locking prevents further edits.

**Unlocking** — Only an Admin can unlock a locked project.

When a project is locked, the following are disabled:

* Reconciliation/un-reconciliation of line items
* Journal entry creation/editing
* Ignoring/un-ignoring line items
* Editing the Chart of Accounts
* Settings page (except the exports section)
* Editing .xlsx files through SharePoint
* Editing documents

You can still:

* View documents, trial balance, and journal entries
* Export PDFs and CSVs from the project
* Download documents
