# Customizable Templates

> Use and customize folder templates for your projects.

Denari Templates give you a starting structure with every project to help manage and organize your documents.

## Default template

Every new trial balance project includes four default directories:

* Assets
* Liabilities
* Equity
* Income Statement

## Customizing templates

You can edit the template by right-clicking anywhere in the document list page and selecting **New > Directory** to add a new directory.

Denari keeps the directory structure you set up in a project for future projects when you use the [Roll forward](/papers/roll-forward) feature. This means you only have to set up your directories once for projects that repeat across periods.
