Answers can pull information from your firm’s connected data sources and from the web. You control which sources are available for each conversation using the connector toggles in the prompt bar.

How connectors work

When you click the plug icon next to the input field, you’ll see a list of your available data connectors. Each one has a toggle switch — turn it on to let Answers access that source, or off to exclude it. All connectors are enabled by default the first time you use Answers. After that, your preferences are remembered.

Available connectors

Depending on your firm’s setup, you may see one or more of the following:
  • Practice CS — Your firm’s Thomson Reuters Practice CS data, including time entries, billing, clients, staff, and project information. See Practice CS for details.

Web research

In addition to your firm’s data, Answers can search the web for current information. This is controlled separately via the globe icon toggle. See Web Research for details.

Using multiple sources together

You can have both connectors and web research enabled at the same time. Answers will decide which source is most appropriate for your question. For example, if you ask “How does our billable utilization compare to industry benchmarks?”, it might query Practice CS for your firm’s numbers and search the web for benchmark data.
